Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Offcut at offcut.aeonis.pro ("Offcut", "we", "us"), operated by Aeonis LLC. By using Offcut, you agree to them.
1. What Offcut is
Offcut is an online listing and matching service. People with leftover building materials ("sellers") post listings, and people who want materials ("buyers") save requests and hold pickup windows. Aeonis LLC is not a party to any transaction between users. We don't own, inspect, store, transport, sell, buy, warrant or certify any materials, and we don't act as a broker, agent, contractor, hauler or escrow. We never collect or hold the price a seller asks. Buyers pay sellers directly.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. Listings, requests and pickups are managed through private links sent by email. Keep those links private, because anyone with one can manage that item.
3. Seller responsibilities
- You must own the materials or have the right to give or sell them.
- Describe materials accurately, including defects, and keep pickup windows you offer.
- You must not list prohibited items, including asbestos or possible asbestos-containing material, lead-painted material (including items painted before 1978), paints, solvents, adhesives, chemicals, fuels, oils, batteries, refrigerant-containing equipment, mercury or PCB items, burned, moldy, flood-damaged or contaminated material, recalled products, or anything illegal to sell or give away. - You are responsible for any taxes, permits or rules that apply to your sales and to the pickup location, including permission to bring buyers onto a site.
4. Buyer responsibilities
- Inspect materials before you take them. All materials are offered as-is, with all faults. You decide whether they're safe and fit for your use, and whether they meet any code or permit requirement.
- Bring suitable vehicles, equipment and help, and load and transport safely and lawfully.
- Respect the seller's property and instructions.
5. Screening is not a guarantee
We automatically screen listing text for hazardous terms, suggest details from photos with an AI model, and review reported listings. These measures reduce risk but are imperfect. AI suggestions can be wrong, and we make no promise that any listing is accurate, lawful or safe.
6. Fees
Listing and saving requests are free. Optional paid products are Pro and Hauler memberships and the Pickup Pass. They're sold through Gumroad, which acts as merchant of record and handles billing, receipts and sales tax. Memberships renew until you cancel in your Gumroad library, and access continues to the end of the paid period. A Pickup Pass covers one pickup hold. If the seller cancels, removes the listing or releases the hold, the pass is restored for reuse. Refund requests go through Gumroad and are decided case by case. During early access, some paid features may be free. We'll show current terms on the pricing page before you pay.
7. Acceptable use
Don't post false, misleading, infringing or offensive content, scrape or overload the service, use it to send spam, harvest users' contact details, or get around fees or limits. We may refuse, edit for safety, pause or remove any listing or request, and block any user, at our discretion.
8. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos and text you post. You give Aeonis a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, resize and use them to operate and promote Offcut while they're listed. You confirm you have the rights to grant this.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
OFFCUT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. THIS INCLUDES MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T WARRANT ANY MATERIALS, USERS, LISTINGS OR WEIGHT ESTIMATES.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AEONIS LLC AND ITS MEMBERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. WE WILL ALSO NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY PERSONAL INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE, ILLNESS OR LOSS ARISING FROM MATERIALS, PICKUPS OR DEALINGS BETWEEN USERS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE FEES YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR $50.
11. Release and indemnity
Disputes between users are between those users. You release Aeonis LLC from claims arising from them. You agree to indemnify Aeonis LLC against claims arising from your listings, materials, pickups or breach of these terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by Florida law. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida, unless the law requires otherwise.
